The Society of Higher Education Human Resource Executives

SHEHRE was formed in 1992 to encourage the exchange of ideas within a network of higher education human resources thought leaders. Members find that the camaraderie that exists within the Society and the thought- provoking exchange of ideas are invaluable, making SHEHRE one of the best professional development experiences annually. 

The Society hosts just one event per year, a Summit held in the Spring in Tucson, Arizona. Conference attendance is purposefully small, limited to no more than 35 active members.

Membership is intended for current Chief Human Resources Officers and equivalent senior human resources leaders at higher education institutions. To preserve the collaborative nature of the Society, participation is intentionally limited to approximately 35 active members. Membership is by invitation as openings become available through retirements, career transitions, or other changes in leadership.

Individuals interested in joining SHEHRE are welcome to contact us to express their interest and request consideration for future membership. While all inquiries are thoughtfully reviewed, placement is based on member availability and the Society’s needs, and submitting an inquiry does not guarantee membership or placement on a future roster.
